It is now possible to upgrade the entire engine to fully threaded spark plug holes if the cylinder heads are removed from the engine. Many styles are manufacture including matching inserts for the Ford Triton 4.6, 5.4 and 6.8 engines. Many sizes are available, including aluminum spark plug inserts. These inserts restore both the needed strength and new threads at the same time.
